• Come out to our concrete canoe teams this week! Learn about the different teams to get a better feel for which ones you may be interested in:

Structures/Aesthetics: Tuesday at 4:30pm in KAP 209
Mix design/Construction: Thursday at 5pm in KAP 19
Paddling: Sunday at 9am

• Join us at the steel bridge meeting this coming Wednesday at 4:30pm in KAP134! Design rules will also be covered.


Mark your calendars for the ENE Study Night October 27th from 4:30-7pm in KAP200C. Snacks will be provided!

• Join out Intramural Basketball team. Practices on Sundays at 2 or 3PM. Make sure you sign-up. more details in the detailed section.

Hello all,

The Port of Los Angeles is looking to fill two (2) Student Engineer positions. Please see the attached posting for information on the position and application instructions:


Infrastructure Vision 2050 Challenge for Futuristic Transportation Systems

HEROX is reaching out to the problem solver community to conceptualize a futuristic transportation system for the third and the final phase of the Infrastructure Vision 2050 challenge.

The Build phase is seeking transportation solutions which will carry people from wherever they are to wherever they want to go, and do so in a way that far exceeds the efficiency and safety of today's transportation models. It should be able to serve the United States population in the year 2050 and beyond.

Prize Details: The total prize purse for the build phase is $ 100,000 USD. In addition to monetary prizes, winners shall receive tremendous exposure for their work.

Application Instructions: Last date for submission is December 15, 2016. No entry fee is required. Innovators may originate from any country.

The Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, to be held October 5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, is the premier event for sustainable building. They looking to recruit students and young professionals with backgrounds in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, and Sustainability to help on various volunteer tasks at the event. Each volunteer will be appointed a task that will require a minimum of 8 hours and will receive a complementary pass to the event (a $600 value).
