Hi ,

This week were having our resume workshop! Thanks to everyone who turned in a resume. Be sure to come out and receive advice on your personal resume. If you didn't send your resume in, don't worry! You can still show up and listen to general advice on building a great resume. Design teams are continuing their weekly meetings and its not too late to sign up. We also have a couple social events coming up that you don't want to miss! 

The membership form is available here!  Dues are $30. You can submit the membership dues to our mailbox in KAP 213, to our treasurer Jason Loui, your design team captains or at an upcoming meeting.

Career Series: Resume Workshop with Civil Engineering Professionals

Date: Thursday, October 1

The Viterbi career fair is next week! Help your resume stand out and get feedback from industry professionals at our next career series event - a resume workshop. Industry professionals from ASCE's Los Angeles Younger Member Forum will be on hand to review your resume from a civil engineering perspective. 



Hiking: Tree of Life Trail to the Hollywood Sign

Date: Saturday, October 3rd
Time: 10:00am
Location: meet in front of KAP (we will leave from there!)

What's better than hiking? Literally nothing. Come join us as we hike to the Hollywood sign and pass by the famous Wisdom Tree! The hike is about 3 miles long, so it is short and sweet. Afterwards we will stop and get some lunch! If you want to come, please fill out this form:


Social: Sports Day!

Date: Friday, October 2nd
Time: 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Location: meet in front of the Lyon Center (we will head to Century)

A fun part of PSWC is all the different sports competitions, so it is time to start practicing so we can CRUSH the other schools! Come spend your Friday afternoon hanging out with us and playing sports!


Steel Bridge Meeting

This week we'll be working on honing our steel skills by creating some trusses from last year's bridge, to give you guys a good idea of our fabrication process and get more experience working with the machines. New and returning members are welcome to help out!

Wednesday: 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Friday: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
For both meetings, we'll meet in the KAP lobby then head downstairs.


Concrete Canoe Sub-team meetings

Subteams are still meeting! This week, we're picking a theme, 3-D modeling the canoe, playing with concrete pigments, and testing out a new lighter weight mix. We're also always open to having more paddlers, so we invite you all out to come join us on Sunday mornings!

Structures: Tuesday 6PM, KAP 167
Aesthetics: Wednesday 6PM, KAP 167
Mix Design: Friday 2PM, KAP Lobby, then we'll head to the basement
Construction: Friday 3PM, KAP Basement
Paddling: Sunday 9AM, Outside of KAP

Environmental Design team First Meeting Recap

Environmental Design Team had its first meeting this past Friday!

Jay Higgins, the Region 9 Director of ASCE, will be coming to discuss current ASCE national policy goals and other initiatives relevant to the Civil Engineering profession. Enjoy dinner with us while being informed about the issues pertaining to your future career!
